Must Visit Pumpkin Patches in San Diego

While Fall in San Diego might be a little warmer than we’d like this year – it wont stop us from hitting each and every one of the best pumpkin patches in town! Some new, some beloved – but all a great time. So pack up your wagon, bust out the sunscreen – and maybe find that flannel t-shirt instead of button town ? Let’s check em out!

Carlsbad Strawberry Company

This spot is perfect for these hot fall days – closer to the coast which means a little bit more of a breeze and cooler temps! You won’t be bored with pumpkins, rides, games and food (on the weekends!) – but additions like the corn maze and bouncy house extravaganza make it a real winner.

Address: 1050 Cannon Rd, Carlsbad

Dates Open: September 18th – November 8th

Hours: 9am – 7pm *may close early due to daylight

Admission: $5, kids under 5 are free!

Parking: Free!

Activities:

  • Apple Cannon, a bucket of 12 apples to shoot for $20
  • Tractor Ride, available Friday-Sunday only, $7/adults, $5/kids (ages 4-11)
  • Corn Maze, $10/person

Bates Nut Farm

This tried and true San Diego tradition is a cant miss this fall. With over 50 years of experience under their belts, this team has really put together another year of fall fun – while still having the space to socially distance and stay safe.

Dates Open: September 19th – October 31st

Hours: M-F 9am – 5:30pm, weekends 8:30am-6pm

Admission: Free!

Parking: $5 starting October 1 (weekends only)

Activities:

  • Pumpkin Patch, I think this might be the most impressive and expansive pumpkin patch we’ve seen! These pumpkins are HUGE!
  • Pony Rides & Interactive Petting Zoo
  • Tractor Hayrides
  • Straw Maze
  • Picnic under a shady tree with their schedule of food trucks all month long!

…don’t forget to stop into the store and grab some sweets!

Oma’s Family Farm

If you have young kids, this one is a cant miss for sure. Not only do they have a beautiful farm and pumpkins galore – but this whole place is BUILT for kids.

Dates Open: September 29th – October 31st

Hours: Tu-Sat 10am-7pm *must buy tickets online!*

Admission: $8.50 for 14+ and $14.50 for kids under 14! (Moves up to $10.50 and $16.50 on weekends)

Parking: Free!

Activities:

  • Playground equipment with swings etc.
  • Cottonseed Mountain to ‘sled’ down
  • Sand box with toy trucks & tractors
  • Petting Corral
  • Giant slides
  • Area for children 5 and under – includes a corn sandbox and adorable little village!
  • Wagon rides around the farm – perfect for your kids who love farm animals or farm equipment, $3/person

Pumpkin Station – Rancho Bernardo Farm

You’d never expect to find this place, tucked away in a corner of suburbs in Escondido & Rancho Bernardo – but once you find it, it’ll definitely be an annual tradition. They have a beautiful pumpkin patch and enough activities to keep the kids having a great time – but they also have my favorite thing ever, a sunflower field!
