A Jam-Packed Family Day at Liberty Station

have always loved Liberty Station, and since having the girls I have realized more and more how family-friendly the area is. I find myself searching for classes and fun things to do with the girls at Liberty Station just so I can spend more time here – hey, who says they get to have all the fun?! We’ve done everything from the Humane Society’s Walk for Animals to the Fit4Mom Stroller Strides class, and there seems to be something new to explore with every passing week.

Kid-Focused Fun

  • If you’re looking for music fun, Songbirds Music offers a variety of different classes, including Music Together – Lacey & Mackenzie’s absolute favorite. I am positive the girls found their love of dancing from these classes. Every class you can expect some fun new instrument, a family jam session, and a sweet song to sing to your little one.
  • If you’re on the hunt for artistic time Pachis Art Studio is the messiest, most fun thing in the world. They tell you to bring a change of clothes for after class, and they are not joking! Their Toddler ‘Art Play’ classes are sensory and exploration focused.
  • If you’re planning a birthday party, KidVentures is a great place to host it –  or their regularly scheduled Kid’s Night out – we used to love doing open play here but they recently changed to a full time preschool.

Favorite Bites at Liberty Public Market

After taking the girls to one of these fun places, I love to walk around and grab breakfast, lunch or a beer … or all three depending on how long it is until nap time! The Public Market is perfect because it has options for you and your kiddo, as well as coffee AND – OR? beer. The area outside is great to let them play while you try and get them to eat (and enjoy your beverage of choice). ?

My favorite finds in the Public Market have been:

  • Cecilia’s Taqueria Potato Breakfast Burrito & Kids Quesadilla
  • WestBean Coffee Roasters Vanilla Latte
  • Anything and everything that Bottlecraft has on tap
  • Scooped M&M’s cookie
  • Landini’s Pizza plain slice, which they are so sweet about cutting into ‘kid bites’

If you Have Time for a Little Shopping

  • Baker & Olive lets you taste before you buy – and trust me, you’ll want to buy any of their delicious Balsamic Vinegars & Olive Oils
  • Pigment, right next door, always has the cutest kids clothing and toys – and of course plants and jewelry for mama

Liberty Station always has events on the calendar, but if you aren’t good at planning ahead – you can always pair the Public Market, a sunny San Diego Sunday & Live Music from 1-4pm!

Sound off!

Have you explored Liberty Station with your littles yet? What are your favorite finds?
